By Cheryl Goh,

Drifting Away

Crystal and I rented a furnished cabin on Dale Hollow Lake for a week. We both love to fish, water ski and just relax in the sun. We put our clothes away and then sat on the porch in matching rocking chairs and talked while watching kids and adults ski. After two days of just being lazy, we decided that the next day we were going fishing.

Getting up at five, we headed to the marina and picked up the boat we rented. Loading it up with all our gear, we were on our way. After getting lost a few times, we finally found the fishing hole people told us to try. After and hour of catching and releasing fish, I handed my rod to Crystal while I got us a soda. Asking her to check, to make sure my worm was still on, she pulled up the line. Right below the sinker was a little plastic box. Her eyes were as big as saucers when I proposed. Tearfully, she said yes.

You're Hired

Hired, as a tour guide, in one of the very first groups of people I took through the winery, was a handsome man with a British accent. After the tour, we spoke for a few minutes and he said he had moved to Kentucky from England about three years ago. The same English fellow was in the tour group the next day also. At the end of that tour, he asked me out.

Both Wyatt and I love the outdoors. We have spent many memorable moments hiking, swimming, and sky diving among other activities. As long as we do it together, we have a great time.

I was amazed that Wyatt had tickets for the Kentucky Derby. After watching the horse races and almost yelling ourselves hoarse, we fought our way through the crowds to the car. Sitting inside, Wyatt put his arms around me, told me how much he loved me and asked for my hand in marriage. Yes, was the only word I could get out between kisses.
